چکیده

Applications utilizing many types of location data, such as traffic congestion estimation and facility management using indoor pedestrian tracks, have been rapidly increasing. Such applications require the integration of various locational data from different data sources to produce more values. Efforts to ensure smoother data exchange are required for promoting the use of such applications because handling and integrating location data will enlarge the market for geo-spatial information. In response to this need, we had proposed a data encoding standard called ‘OGC R © Moving Features’ to contribute to smoother data exchange, and it was adopted as an international standard on Feb. 2015. We demonstrate in this work that OGC R © Moving Features is an effective tool to advance technologies for applications using many types of location data, with referring “4Vs” to represent the most pressing bigdata issues.

Solutions for Limitations in Label Placement in OGC Symbology Encoding (SE) Specification

We are currently witnessing a rapid development of automated cartography through the web mapping technologies. And one of the most important aspects of this cartography is a map labeling. Most modern platforms that can publish spatial data to the web use international standards provided by Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). Among the other specifications these standards have specific parameters ...

Overview of the OGC CDB Standard for 3D Synthetic Environment Modeling and Simulation

Recent advances in sensor and platform technologies, such as satellite systems, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), manned aerial platforms, and ground-based sensor networks have resulted in massive volumes of data being produced and collected about the earth. Processing, managing, and analyzing these data is one of the main challenges in 3D synthetic representation used in modeling and simulation ...

Visual analytics for BigData variety and its behaviours

BigData, defined as structured and unstructured data containing images, videos, texts, audio and other forms of data collected from multiple datasets, is too big, too complex and moves too fast to analyze using traditional methods. This has given rise to a few issues that must be addressed; 1) how to analyze BigData across multiple datasets, 2) how to classify the different data forms, 3) how t...

The new OGC Publish/Subscribe Standard - applications in the Sensor Web and the Aviation domain

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) has conducted much work in the past on event-based models and architectures. However, the current OGC standard baseline only supports synchronous web service capabilities, which have insofar primarily addressed the request/reply model, where a client makes a request and the server usually responds synchronously, with either the requested information or a fai...
